Kolasin
is a small town of about 11,000 inhabitants. It is situated in a broad
bend of the Tara river at an altitude of 960 metres above sea level.
Close to Mount Bjelasice the ski area is 9km away. Kolasin is the gateway
to the magnificent Biogradska Gora national park.
In
the summer the area is dominated by woods, and pastures, whilst in the
winter it becomes a wonderland of snow covered hillsides and warm bars.
The
area is ideal for activity holidays and some of the many offerings include:-
rafting, walking, pony trekking, fishing, hunting and skiing.
There
is a small botanical garden in Kolasin where more than one hundred rare
mountain plants are tended.
